Fingernails' Vanity

My fingernails are feeling vain!

Too bad I'm not good with nail arts, can only paint simple solid colour ones...

BB Cream: ZA vs Ettusais

For the past few months,  I've done quite a bit of changes to my makeup collection. Give away some, threw away many and opened a few new ones. =D

Now, the only bb creams I'm left with (not counting sample tube/sachets) are from ZA and Ettusais!

So here's a simple short review of the 2 bb creams.

Left: ZA Total Hydration BB Cream UV
Right: Ettusais BB Mineral Cream (shade 10)

FRESH out of tube...

BEFORE blending...

AFTER blending...

Neither of the bb creams seems to be a perfect match on my hand, but I would say Ettusais bb cream is good match on my face.

ZA Total Hydration BB Cream UV:
Girly pink tube packaging.
SPF 43. PA +++
Only 1 shade and is darker than usual.
Has a orangey/peachy tint imo.
Has a floral/powdery smell.
Coverage is medium (buildable). A little goes a long way.
Spreads very easily.
Oil control is normal (hydrating).
Retails @ $15.90
20g

Ettusais BB Mineral Cream (shade 10):
Baby pink tube packaging.
SPF 30. PA ++.
Has 3 shades (10, 20, 30).
More yellow base in colour.
Not as the stated fragrance-free, but pleasant enough.
Coverage is light to medium.
Spreads easily.
Oil control is normal.
Retails @ $38
40g

I would actually have preferred ZA bb cream if not for the shade which I felt is a tad mismatch for my face.

However, shade is a very determining factor for me especially when it comes to face colour.

Hence, my preference goes out to Ettusais as it's yellow based and is very much closer/suitable shade for my face.

SK-II Skincare.

Yes, I've heard so much rave about SK-II skincare and have been tempted to give it a try since forever!

Sadly, I have been putting it on hold as I didn't want to start too early (their pdts seems to target > mid 20s) and it's simply too expensive.
But recently, I found some sk-ii sample products (gentle cleanser, clear lotion, mask-in lotion, facial treatment essence, deep surge ex) in some of my subscribed beauty parcels.

To cut it short, I felt my skin is really becoming better!

After the sample bottles finished, I continued purchasing samples of their clear lotion (toner) and fte as I liked this combination the best. Can't really comment on it's individual effects as I used it as a combination. However, my skin feels much more cleaner and smoother (at least lesser bumps). Best of all, it doesn't adds irritation to my super sensitive skin!
While I'm loving it, I have been hearing that one shouldn't continuously use their products for too long a period as the skin tends to be 'addicted' and skin may 'act up' once you stop using it. So to be safe, nowadays I'm trying to use them only on alternate days (hopefully this works?).

Mini Haul Overtimeeee

Dingdongggg, time for updates!!! ^-^

Time just flew past and it's already mid June, GSS!

Okay this year I've more control over my purchases.. Lesser wants, more needs!

Did I mention before I now have a love/hate rls with bbcreams? Ever since my Baviphat bb cream is finished (almost), it's been so tough finding another comparable one. :x

Was considering a number of bb cream and somehow i ended up with ZA.
Was having high hopes as I saw review that it's good. No tester on the shelf so I bought it home to test, somehow I find the shade a little too orangey/peachy for me.. :x Will do a review soon, promised!

Not satisfied. I was on the lookout for alternatives and happened to receive sample of Ettusais bb cream (shade 20). Tried and tested, feels not bad.. only thing if seems a little harsh/dark (v. slight) on my face. Thus, i went on to buy in shade 10! *praying hard it suits me*

And thanks to Vaintytrove, I managed to 2 freebies as well ;p

Been using for a few times, so far so good. But, it seems to dry very quickly and hence needs a quick hand (and mu base). Two thing I like the most about this bb cream is the yellow-based shade and it's baby pink packaging! ^-^ *Ahemm, will do review too! Promised promised!*

Moving on to sales, I went to Kanebo sales on Wednesday~

I swear I'm really conscious of my purchases this time round.

Though in short span of less than half an hour, I've a total damage of $67... (I can explain my purchases!)

Looks a lot? It's actually just 3 items (box and item side-by-side).

Freshel Whitening Essence Cream. It says to target spots and is more concentrated. Just what I need to battle my badly pigmented skin!
Have yet to start on any of them, but seriously hope it works.. And, call me noob.. it's my first seeing a tube with such opening... looks pretty interesting isn't it?

Lunasol Tu Makeup Base. Apparently according to the Kanebo SA, this Tu mu base is newer and allows mu to adhere much better to the skin. This is a need. My current RMK mu base is emptying very soon and without mu base, I feel that my mu just doesn't last as long and tends to be either a little drying or oily over certain areas... Good or bad, I guess I will know this very soon!

Lunasol Modeling Liquid Foundation in Y002. Lastly, a long-time-crave-finally-satisfied buy! ;P

Unfurgivable! *Hearts*

"Fugly or FURgly? It is no secret that Strip is against fur, be it on our bare skin, bags, coats or shoes."  -StripSG-

Did I mention I'm a Brazilian Wax(BW) convert ever since I tried their service earlier this year?!

Am very honoured to be invited to Strip for their latest promotional campaign 'UNFURGIVABLE' at ION. Previously went to Strip @ Wheelock (review here), compared to Strip @ ION, their services are equally excellent!

Strip @ ION

and...
Do you know Browhaus is managed by Spa Espirit Group? No wonder I see browhaus parked just beside Strip. If you are thinking of trimming your eyebrow and having BW, the outlet @Ion will definitely be top of your choice.

The moment I entered the shop, I was met with a group of friendly and approachable service crew and was introduced to Samantha Ong, the assistant manager. =D As this wasn't my first trip I proceeded straight to the  room to start erm.. 'unfur'? LOL

See the interior design? According to Samantha, each outlet adopts a different concept like funky, sailor and etc.. Different experience each time! <3

Each of their room are spaciously enclosed to ensure privacy for their customers to undress, etc and I really appreciate it! Some salon I went, requires me to go to another room to undress. Thumbs up for Strip!

See the area where I can deposit my bag? Neat and thoughtful.

Did you know that there are 3 different flavours?

And..
I'm so happy that I finally got to try the strawberry at last!

The service staff, Coco, was very friendly. Despite being 1.5 years into this profession, she's already very well-trained. She could tell that I was nervous and kept talking to me to calm me down. She was able to tell I have sensitive skin and was really gentle while being fast and accurate at it. Throughout the entire session, she ensures I take a deep breathe before each peel and consistently ask for feedback if the waxing is bearable and to stop her if it gets over-whelming.

Comparing chocolate and strawberry, both are equally good. Personally, I prefer strawberry because the smell is stronger and since I have already tried chocolate wax before.. ;p

The entire process was done faster than expected. I've kinda lost track of time since we started talking. Even without taking the bach flower essence (a serum to soothe and calm oneself), pain started to reduce each time you wax and distraction really works. All the nervousness and pain were gone before I really registered them!

In less than 10 min, the jungle is gone and the feeling is really, awesome! *blush shyly*

Had a pleasant talk with Samantha, it's really informative! She shared with me how Spa Espirit specialises in Lifestyle and even the upcoming product launch. In addition, she even prepared a goodie pack for me. *see below*

So, what are you waiting for?

Promotion Details!

From now till 31 December 2011, Strip will donate $1 to PETA for every Brazilian Wax done.

Liberate yourself and the animals with a Brazilian Wax at $40 (U.P $58).

Here's another good reason to go bare skin and not wear skin!

PS: Do you know skinny pizza is under Spa Espirit too? *Yummiez*

Nails!

Seriously, what's wrong with me!?

I guess I'm a shopaholic when I'm stressed up. But wait, boredom burns my pocket too! Not sure what came over me, my bank is depleting at lighting speed!

See the proof? Its a lot for me, considering I don't usually do nails..

Though not purchased on the same day, but still..!

China Glaze in Emerald Fitzgerald

I would like to think this is what stress did to me. Got it off gmarket, cheap cheap! *hearts cheap buys* I tried to apply on my nails but always end up wiping it off.. Not as easy to apply for amateur like me and seems to stain nails a little (must have base coat)... Colour wise, it's similar to what is on the screen *likes*.

OPI Black Shatter & Hopelessly in Love

Also off gmarket (different seller frm china glaze)! Was so tempted with the shatter craze and finally gave in to temptation. Not very used to the crack initially, but kinda got used slowly.. But one thing i have to say, it stinks imho... Hopelessly in Love is a very sweet light milky pink, sheer and build-able.. No pictures though (tsk, ps!).

Sally Hansen Double Duty

This is my 2nd bottle! Really makes my nail polish stays on longer and less prone to chipping.. And it's shiny! =P

Etude House purchase!

Had to knock off work earlier on Friday and bf wasn't in sg to accompany me, friends mostly still working.. To kill my boredom, this is what happened! Went cwp to kill time since I couldn't concentrate on assignments and i saw Etude House having 30% storewide sale! *blinks* Damage: $15.50 (mask is free~)

The packaging is so cute! Comes with a free pen too =P

Got myself a nail polish remover pump(not sure how u name it). Its an empty bottle, so you have to purchase separate nail polish remover to fill it.. Place a cotton pad on pump area and press down, done~ So much more useful than the normal bottle of nail polish remover, no worry about spilling too. =D

Base coat and cuticle exfoilator (??)

The base coat is easy to apply, dries fast too! Bought the cuticle exfoilator (??) as I wanted to remove the dead skin around my nails.. Apply on the cuticle area, wait for ~10sec and you can start exfoilating using the tool below (taught by their SA)..

No idea the name, but I'd say.. It does a pretty good job! I can see dead skin "shaved off". *shioks*

Oh and lastly.. I got freebies! From gmarket and Etude House respectively~

Eye Mask (L) and Face Mask (R)

*stares back at bank balance*
Heart pain! This is just the nails portion, I still have the online blogshop purchases!!! Stress, spend. Got time, also spend. OMG! *bites nails*
